Rules & Regulation

ENGLISH PASSING REQUIREMENTS

  • The passing marks for each component tested will be 50%. 

  •  To pass this module, students must achieve an overall grade of at least 25 % or above in both midterm and final exams.

IT PASSING REQUIREMENTS

  • To pass this module, students must achieve an overall grade of at least 50% or above.in all components.   

  • Student must do Quiz and submit the assignment, and if missed the quiz, student should submit a reasonable excuse within 2 days of reporting back.

SCIENCE AND MATH PASSING REQUIREMENTS

To pass this module, students must achieve an overall grade of at least 50% and a score of at least 45%in each component. The final mark is the weighted average of the individual assessment.

ENTRY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS

  1. Candidates are required to have completed and submit the General Secondary Educational certificate (GSEC) / 12th Std. and to show adequate proficiency in English language, Mathematics & Science

  2. Oman nationals who have not completed 12 years of schooling and do not have the GSEC / 12th Std. are required to submit a letter of approval from the Ministry of Higher Education, Sultanate of Oman, confirming that they can join the Higher Education programs without GSEC. The admission will depend on receiving an approval.

Language Requirements:

​

   1. IELTS: For exemption from Foundation English, candidates should provide the following:

  • An IELTS score of at least 5.0 (with none of the four areas of writing, speaking,

    listening, and reading below 4.5).

  • An IELTS certificate dated within the last 6 months.

   2. TOEFL: For exemption from Foundation English, candidates should provide the following:

  • TOEFL Paper score of 510

  • TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) score of 64+

  • TOEFL Computer Based Test (CBT) score of 180+

  • A TOEFL certificate dated within the last 12 months.

Note: We do not accept TOEFL Institutional Testing Program (ITP) test.

All candidates except those exempted from above must take the ICEM Entry test comprising of English, Mathematics, Science & IT.
