MODULE AIMS
F2 English Language Module is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to ensure that they acquire English language competency commensurate to IELTS 5 and above band category.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Comprehend and interpret the meaning of written texts on topics of study.

Skim and scan authentic, unfamiliar texts on topics related to prior knowledge or personal interests; locate main and supporting details, and draw inferences.

Apply knowledge of vocabulary associated with topics of study in new contexts.

Describe, orally and in writing, the physical attributes and behaviours of people, and the physical attributes, functions and composition of objects.

Develop well-organized oral and written texts to suggest probable causes and means to achieve specific ends.

Structure cohesive essays or reports, each having references and a bibliography.

Synthesize and summarize information, orally and in writing, from one to three pages of expository text within the specific time.

Interact with peers and adults in a variety of situations, using appropriate levels of formality.

Engage in discussions with others about ideas, emotions, interests and experiences.

Take and organize notes of longer-length academic lectures and informal listening passages using a variety of appropriate outlining techniques.
SCHEDULED LEARNING AND TEACHING ACTIVITY
Internally developed study materials will be provided based on the required topics. Students will undertake two sessions per week combining lectures and tutorials to cover the general module content.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
The method of assessment for this module has been designed to test all the learning outcomes. Students must demonstrate successful achievement of these learning outcomes to pass the module.
MODULE PASSING REQUIREMENTS

To pass this module, students must achieve an overall grade of at least 50% or above in all components (CA, Mid-Term Exam& Final Exams).

Student must take all assessments, and if missed, they must submit a reasonable excuse within 2 days of reporting back.
